Our services
Tarzana calls usually start with a sound or a stall: a bang from a snapped spring, a grinding opener, a door that reverses for no reason. The tech checks the whole system, finds the cause and puts the price in writing before any work.
Most requested Torsion and extension springs replaced and balanced to your door's weight, so the opener isn't doing the lifting.

Garage door help in Tarzana
Homes south of Ventura Blvd sit on winding streets in the Santa Monica Mountains foothills, and many garages there face a steep driveway. A slope changes how the bottom seal meets the floor and where the opener's close limit belongs, so we adjust both after any repair.
North of the boulevard, toward Reseda, Tarzana is mostly single-story ranch houses on the flats. Many still run older doors, extension springs and hardware that has been working for decades, and those are the parts we replace most often.

Why Tarzana homeowners choose us
Tarzana grew out of Edgar Rice Burroughs' ranch and still borders Encino along Ventura Blvd. That border is a short drive from our White Oak Ave shop, which makes Tarzana one of the closest neighborhoods we cover.
Straightforward process
Tell us what the door is doing and pick a time. Let us know your city and whether the door is open, closed or stuck, so we send the right tech with the right parts.
We inspect the whole system, explain what failed, and give you a written price with options for your budget. Nothing starts until you approve it.
We do the work with quality parts, test the door and safety sensors, and your repair is covered by our warranty.
Tarzana garage doors
Larger hillside houses here often carry wide two-car doors in wood or insulated steel, and that weight is what wears springs and cables out. When one fails we weigh the door, size new torsion springs to it, and look at the drums, center bearing and bottom brackets while the system is unloaded.
For a replacement, the house sets the direction. A ranch on the flats tends to suit a plain raised-panel steel door; a contemporary build up the hill may call for full-view aluminum and glass. We measure headroom and side room first, then pair the door with an opener rated for it.

The west Valley runs hot in summer, and a garage facing the afternoon sun can stay hot well into the evening. Heat hardens rubber seals, thins the lubricant on rollers and hinges, and adds load to an opener motor that is already working hard.
A tune-up once a year handles the basics before they become a breakdown: tightening hardware, lubricating moving parts, checking spring balance, and testing the opener's force setting and auto-reverse.

Common garage door problems
FAQs
Still unsure? A technician can talk you through it on the phone.
Yes. South of Ventura Blvd many driveways are steep and garages sit at an angle to the street. We set the door's bottom seal and the opener's travel limits for the slope so the door closes flat and doesn't leave a gap at one corner.
Often it's worth it. A torsion spring mounted above the opening gives smoother, more controlled lift than the stretched springs on many older ranch-house doors. We check the headroom and the door's weight before recommending it.
Please don't try. With a spring broken, the full weight of the door falls on the opener, or on you if you lift it. Leave the door down, unplug the opener if it keeps trying, and call (747) 977-8316.
